Results of election simulations

2018 Provincial General Elections

In the 2018 provincial general election, thousands of young people experienced an election simulation in the 125 electoral divisions of Québec. Held in their school or youth organization, the simulations were an opportunity for the young people to learn about democracy and exercising the right to vote.

A number of children accompanied their parents on their way to vote and stopped by the small polling station created for the Voters in training program, where they had the opportunity to express their views on a democracy-related question.

A look back at the municipal election simulations

Between October 23 and November 3, over 20,000 young people experienced an election simulation at their school or youth organization, organized under the Voters in Training program. While learning about the election process, they voted for actual candidates running in their municipality.

A few numbers:

  • More than 20,000 young people voted.
  • 238 schools and youth organizations held simulations.
  • Some 160 cities learned about young people?s opinions.
  • Over 1,500 ballot boxes and polling booths were sent to participating establishments.
