The Institut du Nouveau Monde (INM) École d’hiver is back in person for its 15th edition! The event will take place from February 17 to 19 at the Cégep de l’Abitibi-Témiscamingue Val-d’Or campus. Élections Québec is a proud partner of this gathering of young people aged 15 to 35 from various backgrounds. Our team will be there to conduct a workshop on misinformation.
To get involved, to vote, or to take action on behalf of a cause that is important to us, we must educate ourselves wisely in order to act in a responsible and informed manner. However, when fake news takes root and distorts our view of the issues that affect our society, how can we go beyond what we see or read? In this workshop, young people will learn how to avoid the pitfalls of misinformation and protect themselves from misleading information all while having fun.
The theme of this year’s École d’hiver is “Taking Root.” We can take root in our community, in our territory, or in the issues that affect us. This theme will be approached from different perspectives in the three courses and in the proposed activities.
The École d’hiver is a unique event encouraging in-depth discussions between young people and fostering the growth of innovative ideas. It is a great opportunity for the new generation to develop their citizenship skills and to experiment with new forms of commitment. You can find more information on the INM website (in French).
