The 2016-2017 Annual management report (in French only) of the Directeur général des élections du Québec (DGEQ) and the Commission de la représentation électorale is now available. It provides an account of the various activities carried out over this period toward the achievement of the objectives of our 2014-2018 strategic plan.
The year 2016-2017 saw, notably, the holding of five provincial by-elections and over 200 municipal and school elections, as well as the coming into force of Bill 83 and Bill 101, intended to reinforce political financing rules and which support the DGEQ’s efforts to ensure compliance with these rules. The year also saw the new delimitation of the 125 provincial electoral divisions that will be in effect for the next provincial general election.
